Michael, HORISEN messaging and HORISEN AG have a common history. Although the acquisition took place five years ago, HORISEN messaging is still using HORISEN SMS Platform. What would be the main reason for that?

M: The collaboration has been outstanding as well as the technology that HORISEN has been providing us with. After so many years of use, we still choose HORISEN SMS Platform for our daily business. Although there were discussions about consolidating this kind of service to our in-house platform, we keep choosing HORISEN.

As an experienced messaging technologist coming from the telco field, did you face any issues before working with us?

M: To be honest, the platform was always an issue in my former company, especially regarding the stability (reliability) of the software. And when you have an issue on the platform, then all your customers get affected. Those kinds of problems disturb your day-to-day business, they are time and cost-effective. Thus, it is very important to work with experts in the field. HORISEN provides us with reliable cutting-edge technology as well as exceptional support so our daily business does not get jeopardised.

Additionally, it is quite important for us that HORISEN SMS Platform is carrier-neutral so we are not purchasing the platform from our competitor. That is a really big advantage!

You mentioned exceptional HORISEN’s support service? How satisfied are you with the service you get?

M: Although we have in-house technical support, HORISEN’s support service is very valuable to us since they are experts in their field – they know exactly what to do when an issue occurs. This saves us a lot of costs since we do not need to train support people but can focus on handling our traffic.  That is another huge advantage, I would like to underline – HORISEN does not provide us only with its Platform but also its professional service. Consequently, we are planning to purchase other HORISEN products and continue the great cooperation we have.

What results do you get with HORISEN SMS Platform? What have been the main achievements since you are working with our platform?

M: We grow month by month and our team is currently one of the best-performing teams in the entire LINK Mobility. Our results have been recognized by the CEO as well as our board. This great achievement is the result of people working in my team and also HORISEN SMS Platform. Especially after the new release of the platform, we have seen a tremendous increase of traffic on all clients’ accounts.

Would you recommend HORISEN and why?

M: No (laughter), I would not recommend HORISEN technology solutions because then I would have a very strong competitor (laughter). The more people use HORISEN SMS Platform, the more I have the responsibility to gather the best team available. Because when everyone has the same technology, then it’s tough to distinguish your team and your own performance. I haven’t thought about this before, but it’s a really good point!

What feature makes our product or service better than other ones you have worked with before?

M: Easy-to-use interface and scalability, definitely. When we employ new people who have already used to working with other platforms, they can start working with HORISEN SMS Platform on day one, without any additional training. Training is an internal cost for the company and we do not have so much time for it. Fortunately, HORISEN SMS Platform is quite easy for them and above all, people really like working with it. In comparison to other platforms, which are not so convenient, HORISEN SMS Platform is user-friendly with outstanding performance, on top of all others.

Scalability is also a feature that is really important in our business, especially with companies that are growing their businesses. It is crucial to be ready for the future and with HORISEN SMS Platform, I strongly believe we are.

What has exceeded your expectations since working with HORISEN?

M: Except user-friendly interface and scalability, HORISEN team continues to exceed my expectations. Whenever there were some issues on the platform, they were immediately solved in a very short timeframe. To be honest, many times I did not expect the support to be so fast but HORISEN team always embarrasses me with how fast they can react and find solutions. The support is very valuable to us because if the bugs are not fixed quickly, it can have a negative impact on your daily business.

How did HORISEN go the extra mile to serve you?

M: The possibility to talk to the team, from technical support to C-level professionals. The communication is very transparent which gives its products a high level of reliability. It’s good for the business relationship to have a transparent business partner so you can grow, make mistakes, gain a lot of experience, and invest it in improving your products and services so the issues do not come up again in the same area.

What specific feature do you like the most about HORISEN SMS Platform?

M: The fact that I can access the platform easily on all my devices. It is really easy to run the entire messaging business even on the iPhone screen which helps me to have more spare time in my life. During the weekend, I do not need to go to the office or turn on my computer because I can handle the entire business on my mobile device that I have beside me all the time. It’s not typical for most platforms, but with HORISEN SMS Platform, you have your own business in your pocket.

Is there anything that you would consider as the best or only compared to other messaging platform providers?

M: HORISEN is always up to date. And this is great because I do not need to spend time on what we need to develop next – it has already been done. So, I do not have to invest time in brainstorming how we can evolve the platform because, with HORISEN, it’s not my job anymore. It is great when you get a feature that you did not ask for but it actually helps you in everyday business. That is definitely the result HORISEN’s 20 years of hands-on experience in the messaging industry and we are looking forward to productive cooperation in years to come.

Michael Maginot, Managing Director

Michael has started his messaging career in 2006 at Vodafone Germany, before he moved over to End2End Denmark, which was acquired by MACH Clearing House Luxembourg in 2007, ultimately taken over by Syniverse, where he held various roles. In 2018 he went to LINK Mobility to run the Global Messaging activities worldwide and locally managing the Swiss operations of Horisen Messaging AG, which was splitted from HORISEN AG in 2018 and became a part of LINK Mobility.

He is an expert in all related topics to messaging, not only A2P SMS, but as well Omni Channel communication-strong in the wholesale area, handling OTTs and as well helping retail brands to boost their communication towards their clients using various messaging solutions like CPaaS and UCaaS.
